Artist's notes: After doing the "Beyond 300" piece which depicted a fuel dragster as a rocket, I wanted to do the same theme with a funny car. Toliver's outrageous creation was the only "illogical" choice, as it would be a "nitro parody" on a grand scale. I was also fortunate to have been directly involved in the design and paint application on the actual race car at Jerry Seiver's Paint 'N Place shop in Anaheim, California. On close inspection, viewers might find the constellation "Alfred E." in the cosmos above the car. ORDER FORM |
