Youngblood and Smith dragster Youngblood (left), tuner Fred Smith (center) and friend Bill Keller with "The Vagrant", Kenny's first Chrysler powered A/FD (circa 1966). A fiery explosion at Irwindale Raceway in February of 1967 put Kenny in the hospital with severe burns injuries which ultimately excluded him from military duty in Viet Nam.   Youngblood and Smith dragster After selling the remains of the first car, Kenny and Fred built this longer, safer and faster car.  The Youngblood, Smith & Nassau A/FD was again powered by a 354 cu. in. Chrysler on nitro, andran a best speed of 193 MPH at San Fernando.  The homebuilt chassis was "copied" from a Woody Gilmore car, and is seen here at Irwindale Raceway, Kenny's home track.
