Artist notes: I wanted to give this piece a "championship
look" but didn't quite know how to do it, until my art director
(the Good Lord) gave me the idea of hanging the medallion over
the collage of John and the Castrol Mustang. Perfect! It's
been an Olympic year, and everyone is into medals.. and no one
has more than Force! I wanted to include John's appreciation
for his loyal fans too, and put them behind him. John has
accomplished something rare in motorsports; he is, at least for
now, virtually unbeatable."
This ten time championship piece represents an incredible and
historic achievement drag racing.
"Taken By Force" original was sold at the 2001 DRAW Auction in Joliet, Il., where it
raised $5,000 for the charity and went home with John Coughlin.
